While Monet painted the changes within the work itself; Carey records the reverberations directly on his work… both sharing a core appreciation for color, texture, light, shadow, and transitions. I hope you enjoy his day in this moment."

Meet Anthony Carey, an abstract painter hailing from the vibrant streets of Dublin, Ireland. His creative journey unfolds as he draws inspiration from the depths of his unconscious mind to breathe life into paintings.
In Carey's artistic realm, acrylic paint, plaster, and industrial adhesives intertwine to form mesmerizing textures that beckon both the eye and the hand. From brushes and knives to copper and steel rods, his toolbox is as diverse as his boundless imagination, each stroke a testament to his endless creativity.
"At the core of my practice lies the exploration of the unconscious and its reflection in dreams," Carey shares. Night after night, he immerses himself in a kaleidoscope of imagery and color, awaiting the inspiration that will find its way onto his canvases.
Drawing from a rich tapestry of influences, including luminaries like Jackson Pollock, Leonora Carrington, Roderic O'Connor, and Jack Yeats, Carey's work transcends boundaries and 'isms', forging its own unique path in the art world.
Recognized with an award at The Chianciano Biennale in 2022, Carey's artistic odyssey has taken him across the globe, with exhibitions showcasing his creations and paintings finding homes in private collections worldwide. Yet, for him, true success is measured in the profound connection between artist and audience, between the ethereal realm of dreams and the tangible world of reality.

Part of my process is to hang work on the wall at home for days sometimes weeks and see how it speaks to me throughout the day. It is always fascinating to see the changing colours and shadows throughout the day. I took a photo of the work in natural daylight every hour from 9am to 5pm and created this
short video.
